Fintech Oasis is an independent editorial publication covering financial technology across the Middle East and Africa. We publish a daily ledger — one considered article each morning — on the companies, regulators, and capital flows defining the region's most consequential economic transition.

What we cover

Our coverage is organised across five categories that together describe the full shape of the region's fintech sector:

  • Banking — digital banks, neobanks, core banking modernisation, and the transformation of incumbent institutions.
  • Crypto — digital assets, tokenisation, central bank digital currency initiatives, and the regulatory frameworks governing them.
  • VC — venture capital flows, funding rounds, sovereign investment, and the investors financing the region's next generation of financial infrastructure.
  • Policy — regulation, central bank strategy, open banking frameworks, and the government decisions that shape market structure.
  • Payments — instant payment rails, cross-border infrastructure, merchant acquiring, and the movement of money between people and institutions.

Our editorial standard

Every dispatch is original reporting and analysis, written by the Fintech Oasis editorial desk. We do not publish press releases, sponsored content disguised as editorial, or aggregated rewrites of other outlets' work. Each article is researched, drafted, and reviewed before publication, and every piece carries a clear byline and publication date.

We write for a reader who needs to understand the region's financial technology in depth — operators, investors, regulators, and the analysts who advise them. That means we favour substance over speed, context over headlines, and considered analysis over reactive coverage. When we do not know something, we say so.

Independence

Fintech Oasis is editorially independent. Our coverage is not influenced by advertisers, sponsors, or the subjects of our reporting. Advertising on the site, where present, is clearly labelled and kept separate from editorial content. We do not accept payment for coverage, and no advertiser has advance knowledge of or influence over what we publish.

Corrections

We get things wrong sometimes. When we do, we correct the record promptly and transparently. If you spot an error in a published dispatch, write to us and we will review and amend it. Significant corrections are noted on the article itself with the date of the change.

The region

The Middle East and Africa contain some of the world's most ambitious financial technology markets — from the GCC's sovereign-backed infrastructure build-out to East Africa's mobile-money pioneers and North Africa's fast-digitising economies. Fintech Oasis exists to document that transition with the rigour it deserves, one dispatch at a time.
